Independent Living Centre works to ensure that every person with disability has the support, respect, and opportunities needed to participate fully in society. Guided by the independent living philosophy, we focus on PWD empowerment and practical pathways that strengthen inclusive living. Our mission extends to families and communities, promoting steady and meaningful community formation disability.

Pakistan Independent Living Centre (PILC), our services are built around real-life needs, not assumptions. We listen first, then respond with structured guidance and community-based support. Whether someone seeks direction, confidence, or connection, our work focuses on strengthening decision-making, participation, and everyday independence.
We provide personalized guidance to every person with a disability and their families, helping them navigate disability support services that encourage independence, dignity, and full participation in mainstream society.
Peer counseling focuses on PWD empowerment, strengthening self-esteem and confidence while addressing emotional challenges. This approach reinforces community inclusion of disability through shared experiences and mutual understanding.
By involving PWDs in social activities like dining, picnic, and leisure trips, our outreach programs provide opportunities for community inclusion and disability while building confidence and connections.
We take a multidimensional approach to therapies, addressing not only physical challenges but also emotional, social, and cognitive aspects. Through personalized skill development, adaptive technology training, and vocational support, the program equips participants with the tools they need to acquire for independent living. Moreover, the ILCs foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and community inclusion, breaking down barriers and misconceptions about disabilities.

Advocating and lobbying for the implementation of legislation at the subnational and national levels that is harmonized with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD, 2007). These regional legislations and policies protect and promote the rights of PWDs in Pakistan.
