President Riaz Baloch spearheads the Quetta Independent Living Center, a stronghold of empowerment and advocacy. Riaz Baloch is the founder and CEO of The Special Ones TSO. He is a disability rights activist and He became disabled at the edge of 6 years by an incident, he started early education in special education and done his master degree in political science from University of Baluchistan. This center focuses on breaking down barriers to inclusion through education, awareness campaigns, and community engagement. Riaz Baloch’s leadership fosters an environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive, pursue their aspirations, and enact positive change.
Mr Khurshid Alam is the founder & president of the Special Abilities Development Association (SADA) born in a small village of District Lower Dir Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Currently he is working as executive Director projects of Sada Foundation, District Project Manager of Hands Independent Living Center Lower Dir, Provincial Coordinator CBID NETWORK KPK and President Khyber Disability Forum.
He is also a well known pashto poet and Sofi Singer. For the recognition of his continuous twenty years services for Disability movement he awarded national and international awards like Fakhr-e-Pukhtunkhwa Award, Dir Sturi Award, Peace award from Universal Peace federation USA, Disability service recognition award from Mayor New York City USA and Universal Autistic award Canada 2014.
Hasan Bilti, President of the Skardu Independent Living Center, champions independence and equality in a unique setting. This center, nestled in the picturesque Skardu region, offers resources, mentorship, and workshops to individuals with disabilities, promoting their active participation in the local community. All Sanghar Handicap Association (ASHA) is working on long term basis with disabled welfare association. ASHA has decided to established independent living centre under the umbrella of PILC. There is a fertile ground for ASHA to run an independent living centre because Sanghar is in the corner of Sindh province and has not accessed through railway or other public transport.
ILCs foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and community inclusion, breaking down barriers and misconceptions about disabilities.
