Profile

Sahil Hussain Bughio, a 26-year-old commerce graduate from the University of Sindh and an emerging motivational speaker, represents courage, determination, and resilience. He aspires to inspire people like himself and the youth in general.

A congenital condition prevented his arms from developing. He has one partially developed leg and one fully developed leg and stands four feet tall. With these limbs, he learned to move, hop, eat, write, wear clothes, bathe, and perform daily tasks independently.

Born on April 7, 1996, in Muhammad Ismail Bughio village, Moro taluka, Naushero Feroz, he is the second eldest of six siblings and the only one with a birth defect. Despite poverty, rural upbringing, discrimination, and limited support, his mother, Sameena Bughio, remained his strongest support system.

At the age of four, encouraged by his mother, he learned to write using his foot. He uses the toes of his right foot to operate a mobile phone and laptop, and the toes of his left foot to write. He can move approximately 150 meters on his left leg before resting.

He completed primary education in his village and continued his studies at Iqra Public School and Degree College in Naushero Feroz. Despite facing ridicule during school years, he remained determined.

He memorized the Quran in fourth grade, has observed aitkaaf three times, and often gives azaan at his local mosque.

Higher Education

In 2015, he enrolled in the BS Commerce program at the University of Sindh. Unlike earlier experiences, he felt respected and appreciated at university. The late Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abida Taherani facilitated him by providing a special classroom table and waiving hostel fees.

He travels around 15 km daily from Qasimabad to the university by bus, facing challenges due to lack of accessible transportation. During a six-week internship at a private bank, he was offered a part-time job but chose to prioritize his education.

He plans to pursue MPhil studies and consider appearing in the Combined Competitive Examinations. He also aims to establish a non-governmental organization to support education for poor and marginalized communities and to write an autobiography.

Motivational Speaking & Achievements

He has delivered more than a dozen motivational lectures at universities and colleges. An active debater since school days, he encourages youth to pursue opportunities instead of waiting for government jobs.

He has received multiple awards, certificates, and trophies throughout his academic and motivational journey. He believes that every fall is a reminder to stand up again—not only for himself but to inspire others.

In his free time, he enjoys motorcycle rides with his younger brother and lives by the belief: “Never be afraid of falling.”
