  • What are the timings of your centre?

    PILC services operate from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time). During this time, pick-and-drop, lunch, tea, and other basic services are free or available at nominal, affordable rates.

    The Independent Living Centre provides a comprehensive range of services to empower persons with disabilities to live independently and enhance their quality of life. Services include guidance on making homes accessible, provision of assistive technology and mobility aids, support programs and workshops for independent living skills, advocacy for navigating legal and social systems, peer support groups, social activities for community engagement, assistance with transportation, collaboration with community organizations for holistic support, and access to financial assistance programs for services or assistive devices.

    While we cannot find accessible houses, we provide guidance to make your current home more accessible.

    Electric wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, crutches, elbow crutches, walkers, and white canes.

  • Are there support programs or workshops to help individuals enhance independent living skills?

    Yes, we provide a full support system for persons with disabilities.

  • How does the centre support individuals transitioning from institutional to independent living?

    This is a core focus and value of the Independent Living Centre.

  • Are there peer support groups or social activities for individuals with disabilities?

    Yes, we provide peer counselling services and social activities to connect individuals with their communities.

  • Does the Independent Living Centre provide advocacy services?

    Yes, advocacy is part of our ongoing outreach and support activities.

  • Can the centre assist with transportation services?

    We provide retrofitted cars, trikes, and accessible buses available for rent.

  • What accessibility features does the Independent Living Centre have?

    Our four-floor building is fully accessible to persons with disabilities.

  • How does the centre collaborate with other organizations to support individuals with disabilities?

    PILC has a strong network of ILCs across Pakistan, as well as partnerships with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, HANDS Pakistan, NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, and other community organizations.

  • Are financial assistance programs available to cover service or device costs?

    PILC relies on fundraising to support persons with disabilities. Donations, Zakat, and philanthropic contributions are welcomed.

  • How can family members or caregivers support their loved ones accessing PILC services?

    We provide family counselling services to guide and support caregivers.

  • Are there opportunities for volunteering at the centre?

    Volunteers, with or without disabilities, are always welcome to participate in PILC’s programs and activities.
